Abu Mahdhurah a rapporté : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ m’a enseigné mot à mot l’appel à la prière (adhan) : « Allah est le plus Grand, Allah est le plus Grand, Allah est le plus Grand, Allah est le plus Grand ; j’atteste qu’il n’y a pas d’autre divinité qu’Allah, j’atteste qu’il n’y a pas d’autre divinité qu’Allah ; j’atteste que Muhammad est le Messager d’Allah, j’atteste que Muhammad est le Messager d’Allah ; j’atteste qu’il n’y a pas d’autre divinité qu’Allah, j’atteste qu’il n’y a pas d’autre divinité qu’Allah ; j’atteste que Muhammad est le Messager d’Allah, j’atteste que Muhammad est le Messager d’Allah ; venez à la prière, venez à la prière ; venez au salut, venez au salut. » Il disait « La prière est meilleure que le sommeil » lors de la prière de l’aube

حدثنا النفيلي، حدثنا ابراهيم بن اسماعيل بن عبد الملك بن ابي محذورة، قال سمعت جدي عبد الملك بن ابي محذورة، يذكر انه سمع ابا محذورة، يقول القى على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الاذان حرفا حرفا " الله اكبر الله اكبر الله اكبر الله اكبر اشهد ان لا اله الا الله اشهد ان لا اله الا الله اشهد ان محمدا رسول الله اشهد ان محمدا رسول الله اشهد ان لا اله الا الله اشهد ان لا اله الا الله اشهد ان محمدا رسول الله اشهد ان محمدا رسول الله حى على الصلاة حى على الصلاة حى على الفلاح حى على الفلاح " . قال وكان يقول في الفجر الصلاة خير من النوم
