Sahih al-Boukhari - Le Jeûne.
Rapporté par Humaid bin `Abdur Rahman : Il a entendu Muawiya bin Abi Sufyan, le jour de ‘Achoura, l’année où il a fait le Hajj, dire sur le minbar : « Ô gens de Médine ! Où sont vos savants ? J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah dire : ‘C’est le jour de ‘Achoura. Allah ne vous a pas imposé de jeûner ce jour-là, mais moi je jeûne. Vous avez le choix : jeûnez ou ne jeûnez pas ce jour-là.’ »
