Sunan an-Nasa'i - Adornment
It was narrated from Abu Shaikh that he heard Mu'awiyah say,:When a group of the Companions of Muhammad [SAW] were with him: "Do you know that the Prophet of Allah [SAW] forbade wearing gold unless it was broken (into smaller pieces)?" They said: "By Allah, yes
اخبرنا محمد بن المثنى، قال حدثنا ابن ابي عدي، عن سعيد، عن قتادة، عن ابي شيخ، انه سمع معاوية، وعنده، جمع من اصحاب محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم قال اتعلمون ان نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن لبس الذهب الا مقطعا قالوا اللهم نعم
