Sunan Abu Dawud - Purification
Narrated Thawban: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent out an expedition. They were affected by cold. When they returned to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he commanded them to wipe over turbans and stockings
حدثنا احمد بن محمد بن حنبل، حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، عن ثور، عن راشد بن سعد، عن ثوبان، قال بعث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سرية فاصابهم البرد فلما قدموا على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم امرهم ان يمسحوا على العصايب والتساخين
