Sunan Ibn Majah — Striving in the Cause of Allah

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“For every traitor a banner will be set up on the Day of Resurrection, commensurate with his treachery.”

حدثنا عمران بن موسى الليثي، حدثنا حماد بن زيد، انبانا علي بن زيد بن جدعان، عن ابي نضرة، عن ابي سعيد الخدري، قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " الا انه ينصب لكل غادر لواء يوم القيامة بقدر غدرته

Muhammad bin Munkadir said that he heard Umaimah bint Ruqaiqah say:“I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) with some other women, to offer our pledge to him. He said to us: ‘(I accept your pledge) with regard to what you are able to do. But I do not shake hands with women.’”

حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة، حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة، انه سمع محمد بن المنكدر، قال سمعت اميمة بنت رقيقة، تقول جيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في نسوة نبايعه فقال لنا " فيما استطعتن واطقتن اني لا اصافح النساء

‘Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said:“When the believing women emigrated to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), they would be tested in accordance with Allah’s saying: ‘O Prophet! When believing women come to you to give you the pledge...’”[60:12] ‘Aishah said: “Whoever among the believing women affirmed this, passed the test. When they affirmed that, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would say to them: ‘Go, for you have given your pledge.’ No, by Allah! The hand of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never touched the hand of any woman, rather he accepted their pledge in words only.” ‘Aishah said: “By Allah, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not demand of women (in their pledge) anything other than that which Allah had commanded, and the hand of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never touched the hand of a woman. He would say to them, when he had accepted their pledge: ‘You have given your pledge,’ verbally.”

حدثنا احمد بن عمرو بن السرح المصري، حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب، قال اخبرني يونس، عن ابن شهاب، اخبرني عروة بن الزبير، ان عايشة، زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قالت كانت المومنات اذا هاجرن الى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يمتحن بقول الله {يا ايها النبي اذا جاءك المومنات يبايعنك } الى اخر الاية قالت عايشة فمن اقر بها من المومنات فقد اقر بالمحنة فكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اذا اقررن بذلك من قولهن قال لهن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " انطلقن فقد بايعتكن " . لا والله ما مست يد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يد امراة قط غير انه يبايعهن بالكلام . قالت عايشة والله ما اخذ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على النساء الا ما امره الله ولا مست كف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كف امراة قط وكان يقول لهن اذا اخذ عليهن " قد بايعتكن " . كلاما

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“Whoever enters a horse (in a race) between two other horses, not knowing whether it will win, that is not gambling. But whoever enters a horse (in race) between two other horses, certain that it will win, that is gambling.”

حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة، ومحمد بن يحيى، قالا حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، انبانا سفيان بن حسين، عن الزهري، عن سعيد بن المسيب، عن ابي هريرة، قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " من ادخل فرسا بين فرسين وهو لا يامن ان يسبق فليس بقمار ومن ادخل فرسا بين فرسين وهو يامن ان يسبق فهو قمار

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) made a horse lean, and he would send the horse that he had made lean from Hafya’ to Thaniyyatul-Wada’, and (he would send) the horse that he had not made lean from Thaniyyatul-Wada’ to the mosque of Banu Zuraiq.”

حدثنا علي بن محمد، حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير، عن عبيد الله، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر، قال ضمر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الخيل فكان يرسل التي ضمرت من الحفياء الى ثنية الوداع والتي لم تضمر من ثنية الوداع الى مسجد بني زريق

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“There should be no prizes for racing except races with camels and horses.”

حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة، حدثنا عبدة بن سليمان، عن محمد بن عمرو، عن ابي الحكم، - مولى بني ليث - عن ابي هريرة، قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " لا سبق الا في خف او حافر

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade traveling with the Qur’an to the land of the enemy, lest the enemy gets hold of it

حدثنا احمد بن سنان، وابو عمر قالا حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، عن مالك بن انس، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى ان يسافر بالقران الى ارض العدو مخافة ان يناله العدو

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to forbid traveling with the Qur’an to the land of the enemy, lest the enemy gets hold of it

حدثنا محمد بن رمح، انبانا الليث بن سعد، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم انه كان ينهى ان يسافر بالقران الى ارض العدو مخافة ان يناله العدو

It was narrated from Sa’eed bin Musayyab that Jubair bin Mut’im told him that he and ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to speak to him about the way in which the one fifth from Khaibar had been distributed to Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib. They said:“You have distributed it to our brothers Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib, but we are related to you (to Banu Hashim) in the same way (as Banu Muttalib).” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Rather I think that Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib are the same.”

حدثنا يونس بن عبد الاعلى، حدثنا ايوب بن سويد، عن يونس بن يزيد، عن ابن شهاب، عن سعيد بن المسيب، ان جبير بن مطعم، اخبره انه، جاء هو وعثمان بن عفان الى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يكلمانه فيما قسم من خمس خيبر لبني هاشم وبني المطلب فقالا قسمت لاخواننا بني هاشم وبني المطلب وقرابتنا واحدة فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " انما ارى بني هاشم وبني المطلب شييا واحدا
