Sunan an-Nasa'i — Friday Prayer

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abdullah (from 'Abdullah) Ibn 'Umar that:While he was standing on the minbar, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever among you comes (to prayer) on a Friday, let him perform ghusl

اخبرنا قتيبة، قال حدثنا الليث، عن ابن شهاب، عن عبد الله بن عبد الله، عن عبد الله بن عمر، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم انه قال وهو قايم على المنبر " من جاء منكم الجمعة فليغتسل " . قال ابو عبد الرحمن ما اعلم احدا تابع الليث على هذا الاسناد غير ابن جريج واصحاب الزهري يقولون عن سالم بن عبد الله عن ابيه بدل عبد الله بن عبد الله بن عمر

It was narrated that Iyad bin 'Abdullah said:"I heard Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri say: 'A man who appeared shabbily came on a Friday, while the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the Khutbah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: 'Have you prayed?" He said: 'No." He said: 'Pray two rak'ahs.' And he urged the people to give in charity. They gave clothes, and he gave him two garments. The following Friday, he came when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was delivering the khutbah, and he urged the people to give charity. (That man) gave one of his two garments and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'This man came last Friday looking shabby, and I commanded the people to give charity and they gave clothes, and I said that he should be given two garments, and now he came and I commanded the people to give charity and he gave one of them. So he chided him and said: Take your garment

اخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن يزيد، قال حدثنا سفيان، عن ابن عجلان، عن عياض بن عبد الله، قال سمعت ابا سعيد الخدري، يقول جاء رجل يوم الجمعة والنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب بهيية بذة فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " اصليت " . قال لا . قال " صل ركعتين " . وحث الناس على الصدقة فالقوا ثيابا فاعطاه منها ثوبين فلما كانت الجمعة الثانية جاء ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب فحث الناس على الصدقة - قال - فالقى احد ثوبيه فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " جاء هذا يوم الجمعة بهيية بذة فامرت الناس بالصدقة فالقوا ثيابا فامرت له منها بثوبين ثم جاء الان فامرت الناس بالصدقة فالقى احدهما " . فانتهره وقال " خذ ثوبك

It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah who said:"While the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the khutbah on Friday, a man came and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Have you prayed?' He said: 'No.' He said: Stand up and pray

اخبرنا قتيبة، قال حدثنا حماد بن زيد، عن عمرو بن دينار، عن جابر بن عبد الله، قال بينا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب يوم الجمعة اذ جاء رجل فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " صليت " . قال لا . قال " قم فاركع

Abu Bakrah said:"I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on the Minbar, and Al-Hasan was with him. He would turn to the people sometimes and turn to him (Al-Hasan) sometimes, and he said: 'This son of mine is a leader (Sayyid) and Allah may make peace between two large groups of Muslims through him

اخبرنا محمد بن منصور، قال حدثنا سفيان، قال حدثنا ابو موسى، اسراييل بن موسى قال سمعت الحسن، يقول سمعت ابا بكرة، يقول لقد رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على المنبر والحسن معه وهو يقبل على الناس مرة وعليه مرة ويقول " ان ابني هذا سيد ولعل الله ان يصلح به بين فيتين من المسلمين عظيمتين

It was narrated from Muhammad bin 'Abdur-Rahman that:The daughter of Harithah bin An-Nu'man said: "I memorized 'Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an,'" from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was on the minbar on Friday

اخبرنا محمد بن المثنى، قال حدثنا هارون بن اسماعيل، قال حدثنا علي، - وهو ابن المبارك - عن يحيى، عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن، عن ابنة حارثة بن النعمان، قالت حفظت { ق والقران المجيد } من في رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو على المنبر يوم الجمعة

It was narrated from Sufyan bin Husain that :Bishr bin Marwan raised his hands on Friday on the minbar, and 'Umarah bin Ruwaibah condemned him and said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did no more than this,' and he pointed with his forefinger

اخبرنا محمود بن غيلان، قال حدثنا وكيع، قال حدثنا سفيان، عن حصين، ان بشر بن مروان، رفع يديه يوم الجمعة على المنبر فسبه عمارة بن رويبة الثقفي وقال ما زاد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على هذا واشار باصبعه السبابة

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Buraidah that his father said:"The Prophet (ﷺ) was preaching, then Al-Hasan and Al-Husain came, wearing red shirts and stumbling in them. The Prophet (ﷺ) came down, interrupting himself, and picked them up, then he went back to the minbar and said: 'Allah has spoken the truth: Your wealth and your children are only a trial (At-Taghabun 64:15). I saw these two stumbling in their shirts and I could not continue until I had interrupted myself and picked them up

اخبرنا محمد بن عبد العزيز، قال حدثنا الفضل بن موسى، عن حسين بن واقد، عن عبد الله بن بريدة، عن ابيه، قال كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب فجاء الحسن والحسين - رضى الله عنهما - وعليهما قميصان احمران يعثران فيهما فنزل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقطع كلامه فحملهما ثم عاد الى المنبر ثم قال " صدق الله { انما اموالكم واولادكم فتنة } رايت هذين يعثران في قميصيهما فلم اصبر حتى قطعت كلامي فحملتهما

Abdullah bin Abi Awfa said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite a great deal of remembrance, engage little in idle talk, make the prayer long and keep the khutbah short, and he would not refrain from walking with a widow or poor person and tending to their needs

اخبرنا محمد بن عبد العزيز بن غزوان، قال انبانا الفضل بن موسى، عن الحسين بن واقد، قال حدثني يحيى بن عقيل، قال سمعت عبد الله بن ابي اوفى، يقول كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يكثر الذكر ويقل اللغو ويطيل الصلاة ويقصر الخطبة ولا يانف ان يمشي مع الارملة والمسكين فيقضي له الحاجة

It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:"I sat with the Prophet (ﷺ) and I did not see him deliver the khutbah except standing, and he sat, then he stood up and delivered the second khutbah

اخبرنا علي بن حجر، قال حدثنا شريك، عن سماك، عن جابر بن سمرة، قال جالست النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فما رايته يخطب الا قايما ويجلس ثم يقوم فيخطب الخطبة الاخرة

It was narrated from 'Abdullah that:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to deliver two khutbahs standing, and he would separate them by sitting

اخبرنا اسماعيل بن مسعود، قال حدثنا بشر بن المفضل، قال حدثنا عبيد الله، عن نافع، عن عبد الله، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يخطب الخطبتين وهو قايم وكان يفصل بينهما بجلوس

It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:"I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delivering the khutbah on Friday standing, then he sat briefly and did not speak, then he stood up and delivered a second khutbah. So whoever tells you that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to deliver the khutbah seated, he has lied

اخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن بزيع، قال حدثنا يزيد، - يعني ابن زريع - قال حدثنا اسراييل، قال حدثنا سماك، عن جابر بن سمرة، قال رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب يوم الجمعة قايما ثم يقعد قعدة لا يتكلم ثم يقوم فيخطب خطبة اخرى فمن حدثكم ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يخطب قاعدا فقد كذب

It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:"The Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver the khutbah standing, then he would sit, then he would stand up and recite some Verses and remember Allah, the Mighty and Sublime. His khutbah was moderate in length and his prayer was moderate in length

اخبرنا عمرو بن علي، عن عبد الرحمن، قال حدثنا سفيان، عن سماك، عن جابر بن سمرة، قال كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب قايما ثم يجلس ثم يقوم ويقرا ايات ويذكر الله عز وجل وكانت خطبته قصدا وصلاته قصدا

It was narrated that Anas said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would come down from the minbar and a man would come to him and speak to him, then the Prophet (ﷺ) would listen to him until he gave him an answer, then he would go to his place of prayer and pray

اخبرني محمد بن علي بن ميمون، قال حدثنا الفريابي، قال حدثنا جرير بن حازم، عن ثابت البناني، عن انس، قال كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ينزل عن المنبر فيعرض له الرجل فيكلمه فيقوم معه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حتى يقضي حاجته ثم يتقدم الى مصلاه فيصلي

It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Laila that 'Umar said:"Jumu'ah prayer is two rak'ahs, and the prayer of Al-Fitr is two rak'ahs, and the prayer of Al-Adha is two rak'ahs, and the prayer when traveling is two rak'ahs, complete and not shortened, on the tongue of Muhammad (ﷺ)

اخبرنا علي بن حجر، قال حدثنا شريك، عن زبيد، عن عبد الرحمن بن ابي ليلى، قال قال عمر صلاة الجمعة ركعتان وصلاة الفطر ركعتان وصلاة الاضحى ركعتان وصلاة السفر ركعتان تمام غير قصر على لسان محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم . قال ابو عبد الرحمن عبد الرحمن بن ابي ليلى لم يسمع من عمر

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that :During the Subh prayer on Friday, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite: "Alif-Lam-Mim. The Revelation"(As-Sajdah 32) and: "Has there not been over man,"(Al-Insan 76) and in Jumu'ah prayer he would recite Al-Jumu'ah (62) and Al-Munafiqin

اخبرنا محمد بن عبد الاعلى الصنعاني، قال حدثنا خالد بن الحارث، قال حدثنا شعبة، قال اخبرني مخول، قال سمعت مسلما البطين، عن سعيد بن جبير، عن ابن عباس، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقرا يوم الجمعة في صلاة الصبح { الم * تنزيل } و{ هل اتى على الانسان } وفي صلاة الجمعة بسورة الجمعة والمنافقين

It was narrated that Samurah said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in Jumu'ah prayer: 'Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High'(Al-A'la 87) and: 'Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?"(Al-Ghashiyah)

اخبرنا محمد بن عبد الاعلى، قال حدثنا خالد، عن شعبة، قال اخبرني معبد بن خالد، عن زيد بن عقبة، عن سمرة، قال كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقرا في صلاة الجمعة ب { سبح اسم ربك الاعلى } و{ هل اتاك حديث الغاشية}

Ad-Dahhak bin Qais asked An-Nu'man bin Bashir:"What did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) use to recite on Friday after Surat Al-Jumu'ah?" He said: "He used to recite: 'Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?'" (Al-Ghashiyah)

اخبرنا قتيبة، عن مالك، عن ضمرة بن سعيد، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله، ان الضحاك بن قيس، سال النعمان بن بشير ماذا كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقرا يوم الجمعة على اثر سورة الجمعة قال كان يقرا { هل اتاك حديث الغاشية}

It was narrated that An-Nu'man bin Bashir said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High'(Al-A'la 87) and 'Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?' (Al-Ghashiyah 88) in the Jumu'ah prayer, and sometimes 'Eid and Jumu'ah would fall on the same day, and he would recite them in both 'Eid and Jumu'ah prayer

اخبرنا محمد بن عبد الاعلى، قال حدثنا خالد، عن شعبة، ان ابراهيم بن محمد بن المنتشر، اخبره قال سمعت ابي يحدث، عن حبيب بن سالم، عن النعمان بن بشير، قال كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقرا في الجمعة ب { سبح اسم ربك الاعلى } و{ هل اتاك حديث الغاشية } وربما اجتمع العيد والجمعة فيقرا بهما فيهما جميعا

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever catches up with a rak'ah of Jumu'ah prayer has caught up with it

اخبرنا قتيبة، ومحمد بن منصور، - واللفظ له - عن سفيان، عن الزهري عن ابي سلمة، عن ابي هريرة، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال " من ادرك من صلاة الجمعة ركعة فقد ادرك

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When any one of you prays Jumu'ah let him pray four (rak'ahs) after that

اخبرنا اسحاق بن ابراهيم، قال انبانا جرير، عن سهيل، عن ابيه، عن ابي هريرة، قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " اذا صلى احدكم الجمعة فليصل بعدها اربعا
